I just purchased a Tasco Propoint and also a Bushnell MP both for under a $250.00. I really wanted a Aimpoint but at this moment it’s out of my price. Both of these red dots actually work better than I expected. Is there anything that Aimpoint would do that these wont? and are they worth saving up for?
I’ve done a field test yesterday and both showed remarkable accuracy up to 75 yards (I did not try anything further) I do truly love to have a Aimpoint M3 or M4 but if this works ?????

Im a Aimpoint owner and lover
I also own Eotech

I bet the Aimpoint just has Better Specs

compare them to others?

I just went from a Bushnell M&P to an Eotech 512 on my RRA.  While I think the Eotech is awesome and glad I made the purchase, the Bushnell did just as good as a job for half-the-price.  Only real up side to the Eo is the reticle looks better shooting with both eyes open.  I don't plan on selling the Bushnell since I will put it on my next AR and will always recommend it...

For plinking or range use, your probably fine with your choice in optics. If your serious about your rifles, and use them for duty or home defense, then your money and piece of mind are well spent going with optics such as Aimpoint or EOTech.

The difference between cheap and expensive?

Quality and durability.

I've finally had it with cheap optics. They have without fail, produced nothing but disappointment and regret. No matter how pretty they make them, they are a headache waiting to happen.

There is no way I would put down 160 hard earned dollars on a Bushnell Trophy MP. To me, its money down the toilet. I bought a Bushnell Trophy model and it wet the bed with 200 rounds. I had to spend twenty dollars to ship it back under warranty service. When it gets backs, it'll go on my 9mm AR. When it fails again, its going in the garbage and I'll get the most affordable Aim Point or EOTech I could find.

Same goes for cheap-o scopes as well. They are cheap for a reason. They suck.

That bushnell ACOG-looking thing seems totally ridiculous to me.  I don't mind cheap red-dot sights (because they seem pretty basic), but that thing pushes the boundaries of pointless in every category.

-It's specifically designed to look like a more expensive product
-It has none of the features of said product
-IT IS STILL EXPENSIVE in comparison to other similar products
-It has a small rear lens so it feels like looking through a tunnel
-All the extra knobs and screws that don't need to be there kill your field of view

You may as well get a Leupold MK4 body with no internals and just look though it at your target.

Partner, as much as you say your proud that flag, so am I. And as a veteran who served to defend everything that flag stands for, I say your wrong in displaying it in the manner you are in that photo.

IMPORTANT DONT'S

It is generally not desirable to fly the flag outdoors when the weather is particularly inclement because exposure to severe winds and rain may damage the flag or the pole on which it is displayed. Never in any way should disrespect be shown the U.S. flag. The U.S. flag should never be dipped into any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are dipped as a mark of honor. The U.S. flag should never be displayed with the union down except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property. The U.S. flag should never touch anything beneath it - ground, floor, water or merchandise. The U.S. flag should never be carried horizontally, but it should always be aloft and free. Always allow the U.S. flag to fall free- never use the U.S. flag as wearing apparel, bedding or drapery, festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds. For draping platforms and decorations in general, use blue, white and red bunting. Always arrange the bunting with the blue above, the white in the middle and the red below. The U.S. flag should never be fastened, displayed, used or stored in any manner which will permit it to be easily torn, soiled or damaged in any way. Never use U.S. flags as a covering or drapes for the ceiling.

Never place anything on the U.S. flag. The U.S. flag should never have placed upon it, or on any part of it, or attached to it, any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture or drawing of any nature. Never use the U.S. flag for receiving, holding, carrying or delivering anything. The U.S. flag should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins, boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use or discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown. Never use any part of the U.S. flag as a costume or athletic uniform. A flag patch may be affixed to uniforms of military personnel, firemen, policemen and members of patriotic organizations.

Thank you very much.

That flag is the symbol of this country and stands for everything we believe in as a nation. Men and Women have died serving to protect those beliefs and that flag. To display the US flag in that manner brings disrespect not only to the flag it self but to all those who served and died protecting those beliefs we hold so dear.

I am the Flag

by Ruth Apperson Rous

I am the flag of the United States of America.

I was born on June 14, 1777, in Philadelphia.

There the Continental Congress adopted my stars and stripes as the national flag.

My thirteen stripes alternating red and white, with a union of thirteen white stars in a field of blue, represented a new constellation, a new nation dedicated to the personal and religious liberty of mankind.

Today fifty stars signal from my union, one for each of the fifty sovereign states in the greatest constitutional republic the world has ever known.

My colors symbolize the patriotic ideals and spiritual qualities of the citizens of my country.

My red stripes proclaim the fearless courage and integrity of American men and boys and the self-sacrifice and devotion of American mothers and daughters.

My white stripes stand for liberty and equality for all.

My blue is the blue of heaven, loyalty, and faith.

I represent these eternal principles: liberty, justice, and humanity.

I embody American freedom: freedom of speech, religion, assembly, the press, and the sanctity of the home.

I typify that indomitable spirit of determination brought to my land by Christopher Columbus and by all my forefathers - the Pilgrims, Puritans, settlers at James town and Plymouth.

I am as old as my nation.

I am a living symbol of my nation's law: the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights.

I voice Abraham Lincoln's philosophy: "A government of the people, by the people, for the people."

I stand guard over my nation's schools, the seedbed of good citizenship and true patriotism.

I am displayed in every schoolroom throughout my nation; every schoolyard has a flag pole for my display.

Daily thousands upon thousands of boys and girls pledge their allegiance to me and my country.

I have my own law—Public Law 829, "The Flag Code" - which definitely states my correct use and display for all occasions and situations.

I have my special day, Flag Day. June 14 is set aside to honor my birth.

Americans, I am the sacred emblem of your country. I symbolize your birthright, your heritage of liberty purchased with blood and sorrow.

I am your title deed of freedom, which is yours to enjoy and hold in trust for posterity.

If you fail to keep this sacred trust inviolate, if I am nullified and destroyed, you and your children will become slaves to dictators and despots.

Eternal vigilance is your price of freedom.

As you see me silhouetted against the peaceful skies of my country, remind yourself that I am the flag of your country, that I stand for what you are - no more, no less.

Guard me well, lest your freedom perish from the earth.

Dedicate your lives to those principles for which I stand: "One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

I was created in freedom. I made my first appearance in a battle for human liberty.

God grant that I may spend eternity in my "land of the free and the home of the brave" and that I shall ever be known as "Old Glory," the flag of the United States of America.

You already have it, so take it out and shoot it.  If it works for you then keep it.  If it doesn't then either put it on your 22 or unload it.  Quit worrying about what others think and just try it out.  The time for others opinions was before you purchased the site, now that you have it, give it hell and post a review for others that may or may not consider getting one for themselves.  The more you use and abuse it the better for the rest of us non snobbish glass types.

You are already in it neck deep, you might as well start swimmin and see how it works out.

Not for nothing but the fact that you put that scope on another rifle and it was "dead-on" doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the scope. It just is what it is.

Sounds like the direction I was planning on going with until I got the money for something better. You show me examples of photos in the AR GD that make improper use of the American Flag.

And just because someone else does it does not make it correct. Your attitude towards the subject is exactly why no one gives a shit anymore about such things as respect towards our flag.

I bet you’re the same guy that runs through the red light at the intersection simply because the guy ahead of you did it too.

Yes but WHY do they have to look just like the originals?  Thats what I don't understand.  I have no problem with cheaper red dots because I'm sure they work fine.  But why does a basic red dot have to look like just a damn ACOG?
