Ok, I'm running the SPOT on my STAG arms
I have the included cantilever mount and it is zeroed as a true co-witness.
I'm considering getting a new quick detach cantilever mount that would have a lower third co-witness.

Is setting Zero the same?
Do you just sight through the rear BUIS and have the dot rest right on top of the front sight post?

Anyone have any photo's of the view through a lower third co-witness mount? I've gotten used to the true co-witness and I'm having a bit of trouble having my brain wrap around the idea of a lower third.

yes but you dont HAVE to look thru the BUIS, you can look right over it and zero it that way.it will end up the same

Sighting on top of the already sighted irons is just a way to roungh zero.  Sight with the dot to get it dialed in.

Always............

I also sighted in my SPOT after doing a rough sight in using the front and rear sights.
I'm just having a hard time visualizing the way it will work with lower 1/3 and was curious as to how others have it set up..
