I have a Bushmaster BCWA3F16M4TX
(see here www.gtdist.com/TXDPS-AR15.htm )

Yes, I like the Texas logo..have
I'll pull the handle off for the mount.

What about the front sight? Leave it on? Will it be in the way of the scopes view?

New gas blocks are $$

Should I go with a high mount for the scope?

Uses - paper punching, varmits and hopefully nothing else!

Suggestions are welcomed.....scope mount brands, models, etc.

Thanks.

The front sight won't matter - it'll be a mostly invisible blur.

For many, the best bet for magnified optics is the one-piece mount.  With a long eye relief scope like a Leupold, you need more forward adjustment than you can get with rings on the flat top.

Most people want their scope centerline to be around the same as the iron sights, usually 1.3-1.5".  Higher mounts will let you put a BUIS under the scope if you want.

Here's the Big List of AR15 one-piece mounts:

If budget's not an issue, the LaRue is considered the best.  If you want to keep it under $100, the Armalite is solid and stable, but relatively low, while the Model 1 Sales is a good bit higher.

If we can be of help get you any optic feel fee to ask.

I love ACOGS to me they are one of the best scopes on the market for an AR15 platform.
