Morning all
Finally going to the range to sight in my red dot and was wondering what size groups you folks get at 100 yds with your setup? I'm well aware accuracy depends on many factors and shooter ability.  Thanks MC

Ok, Back from the range and here is what I got with my Aimpoint Comp 3 2 MOA dot.
At 100 yds 2.500 inches  (3.00 inch group cause of two fliers) for 10 shots. Was using Olympic ammo 55.0 gr.
I actually shot better with BUIS A.R.M.S # 40 low profile. 2.25 for ten shots. This was the first time out with this new rifle which is a Rock River with 16 inch barrel.
Didn't try my handloads or any of the other ammo that I have so things could improve with different ammo or handloads.
Wasn't expecting the Aimpoint to be a tack driver as it was not designed for shooting tight groups. I was very satisfied with it though and found that on the lower brightness settings was worked best for me.  MC

They are good enough to put a hole in a mans chest at 300 and change for well over 250,000 soldiers. And besides that, I took a pig last year at 100yds with a behind the ear shot.

I would say from your results your doing just fine.  Any better has more to do with the ammo you're using and what your proficiency on shooting small groups is.  If that's what you're looking for.  Really, it is a CQB optic.  Not shooting MOA groups at 100 yards.  Something with magnification is better for that.  But again, Olympic ammo and great accuracy would be a hard pill for me to swallow.

Thanks for the reply. Haven't had any experience with the Olympic ammo before. It did shoot reliably for the 80 rounds that was fired. Going to mount a scope and see what kind of accuracy I can get. Will use handloads as well as American Eagle and Guat ammo for starters. MC
