I've been searching for info on carry-handle scopes and such a bunch lately, and I've come up short, so I guess it's time to go ahead and ask the gurus. Thus: What are my options for mounting optics on my AR's carry handle? I know that ACOGs come with a handle mount built in, and I've seen those gooseneck mounts for trijicons and eotechs and such, but I can't find any information on just regular scope mounts that mount to the carry handle, or any info on whether those various gooseneck mounts are legitimate. Thanks in advance, ~GnSx |

ARMS swan is the real deal grade stuff: www.armsmounts.com/catalog.php?action=124&item_id=1 |
Yeah, I've come across a few mounts like that before, but they were always in sketchball catalogs like CTD or Sportsman's Guide for some suspiciously small amount of money.
Ah ha! Legitimacy, at long last! I've heard some trash talked about ARMS before, though. I dunno if it was the quality of the mounts, or something to do with customer service, or what, but a few guys seemed to really have it in for ARMS. Thanks MM and Doc for the quick replies, ~GnSx |
+1 go with ARMS. |

Smith Enterprise also makes a quality unit. Cabelas is the best place that I have found to buy them. carry handle mount |

Leupold also makes one, but I've never used it. I have an ARMS #02, and it works fine, but I haven't used it a lot. The slots aren't Picatinny spec in spacing, though they appear to be correct on the extended ARMS #02E. Many of these mounts don't have a great RTZ, since the spec on the carry handle channel isn't that tight. If it's got slop, you can bed the mount in the handle to get a more repeatable RTZ. |
