Just purchased one, and don't have instructions?  Anyone have a scanned copy they can post?  Also, what's the length and tpi of the attaching bolt?

The most important instruction is to not overtighten.  It breaks easily if your over torque!!

Very straightforward to install.  But I happened to have this that I saved from somewhere:

Sorry about the quality, but it should be pretty legible. If part of it is not legible let me know.

You struck again!

Did you scan that?  I don't have the slightest idea where I saved it from.

It’s nice to see it’s getting saved and circulated!

I'm grateful that someone was kind enough to scan and post it, and a billion other goodies, in the first place.

It’s all about sharing info and passing it on. It doesn’t do any good to lock it up on a hard drive, sit on it, and not pass it along where it‘s needed.

When I stumble upon something that comes up quite often here on ARFCOM, something I think might come in handy, I save it. When the opportunity presents it self , I post it. If I do not have an immediate answer then I’ll do the book cracking, and hopefully help out the OP and learn something new myself.

Awesome, thanks a lot guys!  FYI, the thread pattern is 6/32, in case you need to replace the bolt.  All I could locate was 1.5" long, I cut mine to about 1.25" and that seems perfect.

I installed my Matech a few days ago. Didn't really pay atttention to how I tightened it, it feels solid and I didn't hear any creaking when I tightened it down, hopefully I didn't over torque. Since the screw had red-loctite on I should just leave it alone correct? I have not gone to the range yet to sight it.

The Matech isn't designed to be a QD sight that can be taken on and off the gun repeatedly, so you are absolutely correct.  In fact, the Army states that if you remove the Matech, the screw has to be replaced.

Ok, I got it zeroed today, right on the money, excelt for a small elevation change to the front sight.

Next set of questions:

1) With a M4 where should it sit for <200M range
2) Does the line (@350M) mean anything, other than that.
3) I'm guessing m16A4 is 20" flat-top, whereas m4 is just that

1)  Depends on where you zeroed.  If you zeroed at 50y then leave the sight set at 200m for the IBSZ.  You will be within 2.6" of your point of aim, at any distance from the muzzle out to 200m with the sight set like that.  That's according to the ballistic tables I have on hand.  For targets beyond 200m, either holdover or adjust the sight's range cam.

2)  The line on the range scale indicates 350m like you said, and is used to zero the M16A4 at 25m as per the instructions and US Army method.

3)  The M16A4 is just what you said.  The M4, in a strictly military context, is a 14.5".  I've seen people apply the term to 16" guns as well.

Here's the table showing M855.  This came from either the Ammo-Oracle or here on the board:

ETA:  200m = 218.8y  So you can see how the IBSZ works out with different barrel lengths.

I followed the m4/m4a1 instructions @ a 25M zero, with range set to 300m

[#19]
Following the instructions, you get a 300m zero, as in the first chart below. The bullet is 5"+ high between approximately 100-225m.  Using that zero, I would set the Matech to 200m and expect to adjust my holdover on anything under 200m.  If you plan on regularly shooting inside of 200m, I would try out the IBSZ (aka IBZ).  It gives you a 50y/200m zero and keeps the bullet inside of 2" high out to 200m and only 2" low at 250m.  The second chart compares the different zeros and their resultant trajectories.  You're running the 25m/300m Mil zero, the Marine zero is a 36y/300m zero, the IBZ is 50y/200m, and the Bubba is 25y/~400m zero.  I found that for my playing at the range (which is what my rifle gets used for), the IBSZ/IBZ is much more useful.
