| Does anyone have any experience with these? I know they just came out, and I don't want any redirection to Aimpoint's website, I want actual hands on experience. It seemed expensive at $700, but with the integral mount and the fact that it used double A batteries are making me look hard at it. |

The price tag is the biggest turn off for most people. It "looks" a little uglier and boxier than previous models. However, I really love the one I have. On the upside, it runs on a single AA battery and get 80,000 hours of battery life. That is incredible. I bought mine with Aimpoints very first shipment and it has never been turned off. That was some months back and battery life still has YEARS and YEARS left. To me, the ability to turn the sight on and leave it on makes it worth the extra money. Never needing to fumble with an on/off switch, draining battery life when you forget to turn it off (I've done this plenty with older model Aimpoints, NF, Leupold, S&B, EoTech). If you have the money, I would easily suggest it. If you have a little extra money, buy the LaRue mount. It gives you a little more extension, has a slimmer profile, and is most likely much more repeatable when reinstalled than the factory mount. In fact, go to LaRue's website and but the M4 and mount combo deal they offer. Probably the best deal on the pair you will find. |
