I've got a Burris Xtreme (aimpoint clone) that I would like to trade out for something lighter on my Vector underfolder. Anyone use a Doctor sight on their AK as a primary dot? How about a Trijicon Reflex? Can either co-witness? Anyone mount a scout scope on thier Ultimak rail? I'd prefer a 1-10x scout scope but have not found a critter out there. Are there any good "dust cover" scope rails made for the AK like DSA uses on their FN-FALs? |

Trijicon Reflex has a mount that allows you to mount forward of the carry handle and cowitness with iron sights. As for a flip up BUIS, I'm not sure. I have a Reflex, but my rifle doesn't have a front sight or a rail for one. Reflex is an awesome choice, get the triangle reticle, it's extremely precise. |

I had a Reflex II a few years back and I really didn't like it either. I went to the EoTech and I never regreted the move althoug one of these days I would like to try a better ACOG but I am thrifty when it comes to optics. I have a Doctor Optic and it is really small but I am not sure how you would mount it but it is a bright little optic. I loke the EoTech better as the two circle system is just faster but if the dot cowitnesses with your sights it is quite fast. Not sure it helps, but avoid the Reflex II in my oppinion! |
| I haven't had any problems in daylight, indoor or on white targets with my Reflex, but I leave the polarizing filter on, and I can adjust it to get the proper contrast in any light, but in the end its personal preference. I've used the EOTechs, and those are fine red dots as well, but I just don't like having to carry batteries. |
