I am looking to mount a Sightron 1.25 x 5 on my flat top carbine, and want a lower profile than the 1.5" high centerline that my LaRue mount has. How low of a ring height can I use and still have a decent cheek weld? Right now I am looking at TPS rings, which vary in height from .785 to 1.185....will the medium rings @ .985 height work.....or will they be to low? I am not co witnessing irons, so that is not a consideration.
TIA for your comments / experiences

I have Larue SPR-S mount in 30mm that ends up at 1.42" and while it is great, it is as low as I could go without experiencing issues in some positions.  I could lower for prone use but standing would be too low if I went lower, etc.  I think 1.0" is going to be too low for almost anything unless you have a very different head than I do.
