I looked around and did not find anything about this so I thought I would ask here. I recently got a Bushy in A1 configuration, 16in barrel Mini Y comp break. So I started shooting at about 35 yards. My groups were about 12inches low! I forgot my sight adjustment tool so I was unable to dial up the front sight. I tried it at 110 yards and it was still low. So now I am wondering how much I am going to have to dial up the front sight to get my shots on target and is this unusual? It sounds like the sight is so far off I was thinking that I was doing something wrong. Also I noticed that my front sight is square which I thought I read is the A2 sight post. On a positive note the rifle ran great and handled great. Thanks....... |

The mechanical zero for a AR front sight is the base of the front sight base (the part with the notches in it) flush with the front sight base (the part that's attached to the barrel) The A1 sights on the AR are designed to be adjusted with a round of 5.56 NATO. The point of the bullet is the only tool you should need to adjust or field strip an AR. BSW |

Screw the front sight in a bunch. I adjusted one the other day were half of the post was under the flat of the sight between the ears. A1 or A2 front sight doesn't matter. The differences are square versus round for a sight picture and whether you want 1 or 1.25 MOA sight adjustments. Either way, one rotation should be 5 MOA. |
