| How much difference would you guys say there is between the two really? I ask because I recently picked up a CompC3 with 2MOA dot. I won't be making any HALO jumps or submerging it. We're basically talking about a range/plinking/woods optic that would be used in a potential SHTF scenario. |

I bought a CompC from Midway a few weeks ago for 200 bucks. I couldn't pass up the deal. It's almost identical to my CompML2, except it doesn't have flip-up lens covers and doesn't have the rubber battery strap thingy. I've searched the archive about differences between the CompC and CompM series, and it boils down to this... You can't submerge the CompC as deep and it can't withstand extreme temperatures as well. I'm very happy with my CompC... I don't plan on taking my rifle on any arctic expeditions or undersea adventures anytime in the near future. :) |
Yes - it was new. It's CompC, not a CompC3... The CompC is the previous model, which is now discontinued. Midway had a sale to unload the older discontinued models. I think the regular price was $329. |

I bought 2 of those Midway CompC's They're a great optic. I have a few CompML2's and I think either 1 or 2 Comp M2's. Visually they are all very similar. The compC's seem to have a different anodizing. Also, like someone else stated, they are rated at a lower water proof depth. I've never had any issues with any of my aimpoints. I bet that the compC is still more waterproof than an Eotech. |
