I'm finishing the build on a rifle to take to this event.  My goal is to build a general purpose rifle for CQB ranges to500meters (hopefully after this class I'll be able to hit at 500 meters).  So far the rifle is a Spike tactical lowe with a RRA 2-stage trigger and a CMMG flattop with a 14.5" 1/7 barrel with a permanent Vortex FH.  I'm on about a $500 budget (give or take) and I'm looking at my options for a 1x4.  So far my options look like the:

Millet DMS-1

GRSC's 1-4x24 illuminated CQB

or an eotec 512 with the chicom knock off monocular in a good mount. ($60 optic in a $200 mount )

I'm leaning towards the latter two but would like some impute.  I think with the eotech alone I SHOULD be able to hit at 300meters.  At least thats what I've heard but I've never tried it.

Thanks in advance for the help.  I still need to sit down for a couple hours and read the entire DMS-1 amd GRSC threads.

Weaver V3 for $149.00 at SWFA.  Weighs 9 ounces.  DMS-1 weighs 18 ounces.

Do you NEED illuminated.

The Weaver is great.
