I did a search and didn't find a hold lot about your thoughts about BSA Optics. So what is you opinion on mid to upper range Optics for someone looking to have fun at the range.

Thanks again and sorry if this is a stupid question but it sucks being a newb.

If if helps I was looking at these. BSA Spoce and this weaver-3-9x38

Note. I need to be in the $100 to $200 range.

There are exceptions to every generalization, but in general, BSA is not very good.  They're near the bottom of the old-school optics companies.

Weaver has a much better reputation, in general, and the V series is considered good.

You can get a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 for just a little more, and it's got a better resale value if you decide to upgrade later.  I don't know that the Burris Fullfield II is any better than the Weaver V9, since I don't have either one, but Burris is a more respected name.

For a basic 3-9 scope under $200, it's hard to go wrong with the Burris.

Don't know about the BSA's but I've got that same Weaver on my Mini-14 and it has not failed me. I bought it when they first start making them again 10+ years ago. I would buy another one in a heartbeat eventhough I am a Leupold and Zeiss guy.

Thanks for the advice guy's.

I'm going to go with the Burris 3-9x40 Fullfield II.

I'll let you know how it all works out.
