I have a permanent flash supressor and was wondering if I cut off my front sight would a midwest industries 10 inch free float fit over it or not? If it would fit would it have to be real close? |

Just plain chopping it off may not do the trick. You will have to dremel / file off some more around the edges of the "gas block". ETA: Check out this HOW TO from Falarak. Scroll down near bottom of page 1. |

I have a 10" MI rail on a Stag M4 barrel with a cut down FSB.. I dont get off work till 6pm est but ill try to take some pics this evenng and post them for you. I think the MI as more room because my FSB doesnt look like it was ground excessively. Looks like the a-frame and the lugs where cut off and them refinished. Got it in a trade with Bryan from AIM... |
It will work... I have a MI 10in free-float on my stag 16in M4 upper. I initially chopped the FSB without removing it because I couldn't get the pins out. Months later, I got bored and was able to remove the FSB and I cleaned-up my initial chop job. |

I just did that for a build and it turned out great. My advice is to use the cutting wheel as much as possible and only finish with the grinding stones. When you are done, the flat black from Krylon's camo line of spraypaints is a pretty damn good match for the parkerizing on the barrel. I expect to do quite a bit more now that we have dropped the prices on remaining MX rails.  TalonArms.com |
