Actually you should look at our AR15.com board member Victor's MRD sight. It is made in Europe, metal body and glass lens.  same mounting points as the Doctors sight.  no on/off button, but the price is amazing.

Done, got the fastfire Irondot, larue t-shirt & cool armadillo bottle & .45 opener.

Just cancelled w/ swfa & placed the order w/ larue.

Thanks for the input.

Who is this victor guy & where is his site. I might want a few cheaper red dots for a few other weapons. My eyesight isin't what it used to be. (got hit w/ a claw hammer. long story & eyesight is close to getting back to normal)

The iron dot is here, Just put it on the rifle last night. From all appearances the fastfire should work quite well, the iron dot system is awesome. Looks to be indestructible.

T-shirt is cool, got a free hat & a cool armadillo bottle & .45 opener.

Also, you don't need a riser if you get the iron dot system from larue, perfect height & it aslo comes w/ a backup peep if you are running this as a primary.

pretty cool unit. range report will follow if I ever get to it this month.

That be me!  Here is a link to the RDP-II. What you will find is a mini red dot for a cheaper price, but NOT cheaper quality and it's NOT plastic!  I worked with this LED for clarity and sharpness for quite some time and it's been on some very high end guns to say the least. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=23&t=435538  Hope this helps!

DAMN, That unit looks good as well. (Looks almost Identical to the fastfire, same manufacturer?)

I already pulled the trigger on the iron dot setup from larue, but will keep that in mind.

thanks!

When I was in the market for a mini red dot that would not break the bank, the Fastfire was a leading contender.  Since they were impossible to find in stock, I went with Victor's RPD-II instead and have no regrets.  Specs appear to be comparable to the leading more expensive brands.  I am definitely looking forward to getting a few more units for various setups.
