| I just bought an aimpoint and was VERY disappointed in the dot. Well it was not a dot but a line. Which red dot has the best (crisp) dot? |
+1 this could definately be a factor in the problem. Most people see the dot as a round dot. It shouldn't be the crispest dot, as you focus on the target. If it's shaped more like a football, you could very well have an astigmatism |

If you cannot see an Aimpont’s dot as a dot you will most likely not see any other makers as a dot. I recommend have other people look at that have Aimpoint’s and EoTech’s. Have you ever looked through a red dot sights before, also did you take it outside and look through it? | Yes I have shot IPSC (Open class) with a c-more for over 10 years. Have a Meopta Meastar K-dot and it looks rounds. (yes I know the glass is etched). Took it out sid eand it does look somewhat better. Had my eyes checked less than a year ago and all was perfect. Talked to the guy I bought it from and he checked another new one and said it looked like a comma to him. |
HAD SAME PROBLEM EVERYONE SAID THE SAME THING ITS TRUE I traded it in on a ML2 4moa and its fine for me as well as my 551 eotech 1moa? Dont turn up all the way If I do that on mine then yes my eyes see a line. I ALSO FOUND OUT that when wearing Glasses it makes it worst But CONTACTS are FINE Whats FUNNY My CHEAP red dot that on my spoter I see Fine with my Glasses |
It all depends. I'm left handed (shoot left handed) with astigmatism (much worse in my right eye them my left) and when I see a double dot (usually when I'm tired) squinting or closing my right eye makes a world of difference (two dots become one). Everyone with astigmatism is a little different depending on eye dominance and the level of astigmatism between both eyes. |
