The scope would not mount to the tripod. Either the screw on the mount was the wrong size or the mounting hole on the scope was too big. I had not used it so the return policy from the store was no good. I sent it off to Bushnell who now owns Tasco. After they had it for about a month I called and the customer service person said she would email the repair center to see what was going on. Another 2 weeks went buy and I had not heard back so I called again. Again I heard nothing until one day I checked the repair order status on line and it said a replacement was on order. When all was said and done it was exactly 2 months. That's 8 weeks for them to determine I needed a replacement and get it shipped back to me. As far as I am concerned I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BUSHNELL PRODUCT!!!! I was looking at the Millet scope but since I heard Bushnell makes them I will buy someone elses product! It's shit like this where companies lose customers! |

| I'm planning on ordering a Millett DMS and have looked at the mounting options people have used in this thread. Would it work to use high scope rings instead of springing for an offset mount? The front ring would have to be attached to my FF forend, a Daniel Defense Omega 7. Would this be secure enough? |

Just thought I would let everyone know. I sent my Millett to Bushnell to have the fungus problem fixed. Took a little over a month. I was actually quite impressed. They sent me a card in the mail to telling me where to go and see the status of my repair online. I also got a brand new scope back.
One thing still bugs me about this scope. Maybe its just me. If you put a level on top of the elevation cap make it level and then look through the scope the crosshairs are off. Both of the scopes have been like that so I guess thats how they should be. Anyone else notice that? |

I wanted to add my .02 here. I purchased on of these scopes and mounted it in a LaRue SPRE mount. Once sighted it it was perfect at 1x for 0-75 yards and kept tight 1moa groups at 100-150+.
The bad news on my second trip to the range, when I adjusted the scope to 4x it went completely blurry. I would crank it back down and it was fine again. Back up to 4x and completely blurry. I fired a shot anyway and the blur cleared up, but the zero was WAY off. After the next shot, blurry again. Shortly thereafter I noticed what appeared to be a large crack/chunk of glass missing, on the glass immediately behind the last lense on the exit end. I have no idea how this happened as it was firm in the mount, has never been dropped or even banged against anything, as this was on my "range queen" rifle. I loved the scope but to have this happen on the second range trip makes me 
I sent it back to millet and will post an update from them when I hear something. |

So the GF got one, mounted it last week.
Shoots ok but seems pretty heavy for a 4x scope. Looked up spec and weighs 18-ounces and perp mount is 8.8-ounces, that's 1.67-pounds for optic? Only time will tell I guess but they could lighten them up some. |

i'm considering this mount for my DMS-1. Leaves me a lot of options to attach lights and whatnot.

See my post above. Now my Millett is in a LaRue SPR-E. I like it MUCH MUCH MUCH better.

The millet is surprisingly nice. Especially for the $185 I paid for it. (found it in the EE) The eye relief and the size of the actual scope is what would be improved imo if you went to a higher priced scope. (ie: eye relief would be a little more forgiving, and you could make the scope 1-2 inches shorter)
But the glass is nice and clear. Target acquisition is very easy indoors/low light with the lit reticle. I like the donut with the 1moa dot in the center. Keep in mind, when using outdoors in daylight, the reticle becomes black. (I did not have a problem with it, but some might not like that) As stated by a lot of people, the flip up covers are crap. I have butler creek ones on the way. (size 16 and 02A in case anyone needs the size). The 1-4x adjustment knob is smooth in function, but would be easier with a cat tail put on...but I don't feel like spending $70 for it? I tried to take a picture of the reticle, but it was hard as hell holding the camera still in the proper position LOL. Any bluriness is due to my shaky hands and not the scope. =P

My top cap took a hard fall to the door jam of the safe and it crushed like tinfoil. I could just order another tall side cap so it has room squish a little if it happens again, but if there is anything better, I'd like to know |

I've got two of these scopes, both purchased from SWFA. I seen this thread a long time ago & never noticed anything wrong, fungus wise with either of mine.
I began reading this thread again & learned how to check for this fungus. Sure enough, the scope on the AK has something in it. It's not as bad as the one on page 71, but there's something there. Like they'd used dirty dish water to wash the lens with. Where the scope on the AR is pristine. I don't like the situation, but sending it to Bushnell & possibly getting something returned that's even worse, worries me more than the "Fungus" does. I really don't see this "Fungus" crap bothering me with the kinda shooting I'm liable to be doing with the AK. That said I think I'm gonna just let it ride, at least for now. |

Ok ive been convinced 80 pages and i think ive found my optic
so my questions are these - eye relief - it seems i need a cantilevered mount for correct eye relief i have a fixed front m4 flatop whithout spending as much as the optic on a mount what are the options that would allow me to clear the front sight hight - i also want a flip up buis i like the magpul but is it too large ? should i go with a MI buis or a samsun for a lower folded sight thanks in advance |

i for one cannot affort a scmitt and bender or an acog. id like to but i cannot
i am interested in an a sub $200 optic that can fit my needs as my life does not depend on this optic its seems a reasonable choice calling it Chicom crapola without any supporting info is a useless flame post as the kids say you be trollin so anyways, is there a thread on the primary arms 1-4?? maybe that fits my bill and is in the same price bracket also about the mount what can be gotten for 80 or less in a cantilever mount |
| Received mine from SWFA yesterday, I'm still waiting on the SPR-E from LaRue. Initial impression of the scope good. Seems solid and well built. LaRue is backed up a bit with .mil orders so I don't know how long it will be till I can mount it and actually shoot with it. Will report back after I've had it at the range. |

Beware of Bushnell customer service.
I purchased a new DMS and mounted it on my Titan Armory Xtreme upper. After mounting the scope, I noticed that something looked a little bit odd. It turns out that the eye piece of the scope was angled/bent, so I returned the scope to Bushnell. The first time Bushnell returned the scope with a quote for the price of a replacement. They stated that the scope was damaged. Well no crap, that is why I sent it in for repair. Bushnell did not pack the scope in any sort of padding for return shipment, which only increased the damage. I gave the repair shop a call and spoke with a customer service rep. I explained that nothing had been done to damage the scope while in my possession, and that there was no evidence of damage on the exterior of the scope that would indicate any sort of rough handling. Bushnell kindly sent a shipping sticker, and the scope was returned a second time. I would lookup my lab repair number every so often to check on the status of the scope. After a couple of weeks, the lab repair number no longer worked. I called Bushnell to see why I could not check on the status of my scope any longer and had not received any other communication about the scope. I was told that I could send $10 to have my scope returned or have it replaced for $188. The reason for denial this time was that the “scope was damaged while mounting”. I am still trying to think of how the eye piece on a DMS can be bent during the mounting process. Oh well I guess – lesson learned. Buy a scope from a manufacture that backs up there products like Vortex and Leupold. |
