I think the 5000/7000 series is the one that started it all. I was for a time watching them on eBay with the intention of mounting one on my carbine.

The 7000/9000 series are built from the same material and manufactured the same way as the CompM series, so yes, they are extremely durable sights.  Not as durable as the CompM4 however.
