I've read a lot of posts regarding the LaRue mount for the EoTech, and it is currently in the running (ordered my 512 yesterday).  I'm also in need of a good BUIS, but the thought of spending another $200+ on a mount and BUIS makes me cringe.  I've been looking at the ARMS Swan Sleeve, which incorporates a raised platform for the EoTech along with a built-in ARMS 40 BUIS:

Does anyone have any experience with this setup?  I really like the throw lever locking feature of the LaRue, but this combined mount appears to "function" the same without the quick disconnectability, and I can get one for about 1/2 the total price of seperates.  Comments appreciated.

Are you sure you want a mount for your EOTech?  Just wondering because I prefer an absolute co-witness.

Good point.  I've never used an EoTech before, and plan to see how I like it directly on the flat top before I make further decisions.  It just seems like from what I've read on these boards, the majority recommend a riser to open up the sight picture while maintaining a lower 1/3 co-witness.  Who knows, I may not even like the Eotech, in which case you'll see it here on the EE shortly (I hope not).

I prefer the eotech directly on the rail and a flip-up front sight folded down most of the time.

i will agree with madebymattel the standard fixed sight post can cause the eotech reticle to get fuzzy, and you sped alot of time trying to line the dot up with front tit.

A lower 1/3 cowittness, like what the Larue gives you for the Eotech or Aimpoint, is the only way to fly.

There is also the ARMS #54 if you want it way up there. Would be good for gas masks.

The ARMS Swan Sleeve will not co-witness with an EOTech mounted on it, the EO will sit too high. Your best bet is a mount designed strictly for the EOTech. The ARMS Swan Sleeve was designed with the Aimpoint in mind.
