I got to attend the Marine South Expo today and the Laser Devices people were there and one of the new products they are unveiling is the EOLAD. Essentially it is a 533 with a IR laser and Illuminator on the side of it.

The production models look better than the prototypes in the add.

Now this one is the IR version but a visible version with out the illuminator will be avalible for civilian sales. The rep was not able to quote me a price.

The lighting was kind of harsh so I was not able to get decent shots but this is what it looks like.

Hmm, yeah, that's an idea. So let me get this straight. They're selling this as one unit correct?

What happens when the EO or the laser goes down, can you remove either or do both come off? How is it attached? It looks as though the stnadard EO screw has been lengthened so that it attaches as one unit.

Yep one unit. The laser is screwed into the Eotech. Is it field repairable? Hummmm I don't  think so as the laser taps it's power off of the batteries for the Eotech itself, but I could be wrong.

I'm just a GI and I've never worn a black hood over my head (except when it got really cold) so I think I'll pass. I like my optics and lasers separate so when one goes down, I can still use the other one.
