I have an EoTech 552. I've had it for a couple of years. I just noticed that parts of the dot and ring sort of just disappear in certain spots on the glass. It's like a double line starting from the upper right corner and swinging down towards the center, then back up. I can really notice it if I hold the sight a few feet away and move the dot all around the window.......I can see the shape of the part that doesn't show the dot.
I really don't think this is normal. But before I call EoTech, could you guys check out yours to see if they do this also?
Just hold the sight a few feet away and move it around so you can see if the circle and dot partially disappear anywhere on the glass.
I appreciate it.
Thanks,
DW
P.S.- Here's a pic I drew in Paint (I suck at using Paint) of the areas that the dot and circle partially disappear in. They are the black lines. Obviously, you can't see the lines when looking at my sight but moving the dot around reveals them to be there.

My 552 doesn't do that. Other than the usual recommendations to replace the batteries and clean the contacts, I have no idea what's wong.

Neither of mine (552 and 553) do that.

I had a problem with my reticle washing out in bright sunlight called the folks at eotech and they upgraded me to a 551 free of charge. They should be more than happy to take care of you. (plus the warranty was up on mine) hats off to the guys at eotech

Something's def. wrong, I've heard of a couple (Very few) cases of the lens glass de-laminating and screwing up the reticle- maybe that's what is going on here?
Either way, call them, EoTech's CS is great.

I sent the EoTech in to them last Saturday. I got it back yesterday totally fixed.
EoTech rocks. Even though mine was out of warranty by 6 months, they still fixed it free of charge.
