Anyone using one of these? Comments on how good/bad they work?

I am using one on my XCR behind an ML3 for 3-gun tac matches.  Works great for shots out to 200 meters and with the flip mount, works equally as well for CQB shots.  Even though the 2 moa dot of the ML3 is magnified, everything else in the Aimpoints field of view is magnified as well, so the dot still looks like it is 2 moa.  Here are a couple of pics.

I love mine. The glass is perfect, build quality is typical Aimpoint and the function is 3X as advertised.  Having the ability to shoot long and then with the flip of a lever be able to remove the 3X and shoot CQB is great. Getting the mounts that work for you is the hard part IMO.

Can anyone give us a close-up view of how it attaches?  Does it flip to the side or come off completely?  Do different ones work differently? (Looks like the larue comes off and the stock aimpoint mount flips to the side?)

Thanks in advance...

ETA:  KM223, that is one bad mutha carbine...

Thanks MisterWilson
I have seen others with a "flip to the side" mount but it seems to position the optic a bit on the low side for me. Here's a close up of the LaRue setup.

MADDOGDAN- Is that setup legal for the uspsa 3gun tactical division where you are only allowed one optic on your rifle?  Or is the magnifier considered a 2nd optic which pushes you into the open division?

USPSA legal in Tactical, but you have to leave it on the gun for the entire match. If you have a flip mount that gets it off to either side, good to go, but you can't use a twist-loc mount and remove it for short range stages and pu tit back on for long range ones.
