I just put an Eotech optic on my AR a few weeks ago and really enjoy it.  However, I was surprised to find that there wasn't any sort of protective cover shipped with the optic.  What and where can I find a cover for an Eotech?

I use one of the neoprene ones for my EOTech for storage. I'll see if I can find a link.

Check out www.midwayusa.com Do a search for Scopecoat scope covers.

Yes, I too bought a SCopeCoat from Midway USA - very nice little cover

Didn't I see a flip cover for the Eotech a while back?

For the time being, I ordered a scopecoat from Midway to protect my Eotech 552.   With shipping it was under $20, so I would still consider other alternatives if something better came along.

it is kind of amazing to me that no one makes something that protects the glass better.  Some kind of flip up cover that would be better for the field.

I just wrapped mine in the same 100mph tape I used to cover my brass deflector to prevent marring

I dont understand it.  Its a combat sight.  I really dont think the foam in your rifle case is going to hurt it.............

Although I like to treat my $500+ investment with due care, and am careful about scratching up the finish during "training" events, when you look at some of the photos of EOtechs being used in the sandbox, with all the paint worn off, I have to believe it is a pretty stout piece of equipment, glass and all.

So I just don't worry about too much.

if your worried about hurting your eotech, you should store your weapon better.  the barrel is more important.
