I have a Surefire M73 rail installed on my AR15 and the SF rail and upper receiver rail are not level (yes I knew this when I bought the rail). Has anyone had any issues when mounting devices that span the rails (ie. Eotech sight, etc)? If you ran into an issue, what did you do to correct it? Thanks. |
| Sorry, I misunderstood your post. FWIW I mount my 511 and 551 at the forward most position on the receivers. It overhangs the receiver a bit but because of the short N battery model it doesn't reach as far forward as my rails. I never have any zeroing problems with either scope. |
Surefire made the top rail a bit lower for some reason i still don't understand, maybe it is better for mounting the IR alser. As far as mounting optic like EOTech forward, i mount my EOTech at the send to third rail slot from the front, most of my battery compartment is hanging over the handguard. You can only do this with the rail ahndguards and slim handguard, you are not able to over hang the EOTech on Surefire M500 and M4 style handguards. |
I've never been able to do it with any of my Daniel Defense forends either, and I've had ALL THREE locking ring styles. |
Mine is setup just like this one except with the Eotech 552 back one or two notches, ARMS #40L and standard FSB. It works pretty well for me. |
