I didnt put it in the optics forum, as its a general question.

For you guys running a magnified optic on a flat-top, with a standard FSB, does the FSB obscure the image thru the optic to the point that it effects accuracy?

Common sense says no, but I'd like to hear from guys who've done it.
I'm thinking of going to a flat-top from an A2.

I run an ACOG, and the FSB is a slight blur, and it is no issue. Generally, anything at or over 3x is fine, and the more magnification of the optic, the less you see it.

Thats kinda what I figured. I've won the "I bet I can hit that clay pigeon with a quarter in the end of my scope" bet a dozen times, but with an A2 upper, there was no way for me to try it.

Thanks.

I have done it several times, and with a standard front sight tower, and any scope I have used from 3X and up,   you can't see the front sight tower at all.
On scopes of 1.5 - 2.5X you can see a little blur, but not enough to bother me.
