i just put an eotech on my rifle. i will be going this weekend to zero it in. when i look through the eotech now, i notice the recticle moves up down/left right depending where i rest my cheek on the buttstock and if my nose comes closer or farther from the charging handle. how do i correctly zero it in? i feel if i zero it, the POI will change depending on where my head position. im not sure if this question is making any sense to you guys reading it. i would appreciate some opinions on how to correctly zero it and if it matters that the recticle moves based upon where i rest my cheeck on the buttstock,

MODS: if this is in the wrong section i apologize in advance. please feel free to move

its supposed to move around.  thats the beauty of an eotech.  it will work even if the glass is broken. just try to use the same cheekweld every time you shoot, but even that isnt necessary with an eotech, just sighting it in.  HTH

You will notice more pronounced movement if you are looking at objects inside of 25m.  The EOTech is basically parallax free outside of 25m or so, but inside that distance you will see some parallax error.

In other words, it *appears* to move up and down, relative to your sight post.  Relative to a target more than 80 feet away, it's staying put, and will hit just fine.

Go try it out on a range w/ a 50yd line, and zero it point-of-aim = point-of-impact.  Then, take some pop-shots with different cheek-welds, et al, and you'll be quite happy.
