Hey ! Have any of you tried the RRA Dominator Eotech mount ?? Was wondering how you like it for the 512 ? Seems well built and sturdy, however how do you like the fixed rear sight ? Thanks |
I had one but didn't like it almost from the start. IMO the view through the fixed rear iron sight obscured too much of the EOTech's window. The sight picture was just "too busy." I happily switched to a Matech folding BUIS. Even when in the upright position, it obscures little view.  or here for a larger view. |

The problem I had was, When I mounted the Eotech straight on the upper flat-top rail, there was very little room to mount the BUIS on the remaining rail. When I did mount the BUIS & the Eotech together on the rail, there was little room left to access the Eotech keypad. This was okay for a bit, then I realized I wanted more room between the two. I looked at all available BUIS I could find but they were all about the same width, so I picked up the dominator, which solved the issue. Gave me plenty of room to get to the on/off buttons, but I lost the ability to flip down the rear sight. I'll start looking for a full length rail that is longet than the dominator that allows room for the BUIS. Later Sooner |
| Tried several set-ups and have ended with the dominator and eothingy. Does exactly what I need and it is not too busy for me. I prefer a simple set-up with a fixed rear sight and the 1/3 lower cowit is perfect. My only complaint is the buttons can be hard to reach sometimes - but practically speaking is not a real problem. |
