I am looking for some experiences with the 2x aimpoint people would be willing to share.

How is it to use?  Paralax? Clarity? Speed?

I really want a 1x scope and am looking into the eotech and aimpoints.  But, in truth.....most of my shooting with this carbine will be at 50-200 yards and not cqb and so a little magnification would be nice too.  It seems to me that the 2x aimpoint might be a good compromise between speed and magnification.

Anyway, I appreciate any info users could share.

You mean the 3x?

It's ok, but to me the 2x is a solution that does both functions just "ok", and neither very well.  Clarity is ok, but it's not as fast as the regular Aimpoint.  The 2x isn't enough mag for me to make a difference and justify getting the 2x over a 1x.

LOL

Not worth the retail, but no regrets about what I paid used on EE.

FOV is crushed, but still fairly clear and handy floating dot makes it less head position sensitive than a 2x scope. It works if you shoot both eyes open, otherwise pretend you are looking down a tube half the diameter of a std Aim. Now for fast and close you can close the front cap, and find that both eyes open turns it into a 1x where all of your view is at the same depth.

For combat, it may do nothing quite right, but for plate shoots I am happy.

PS- Try any 1-4x scopes?

Had the 2x (currently out of production) mounted on the forward rail of an MIA Scout and it was a sweet set-up for Col. Cooper's "snap-shooting" concept.  I sold that package to build an SPR and frankly, I miss it.
