I sighted in two Bushy uppers today and both had a standard A2 front sight and a 40L Rear BUIS. It was very odd because I had to adjust them both ALL the way to the right in order for them to be Zeroed. This was confirmed by someone else who was there (and a better shot then me. ) I was hitting 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards after I adjusted them fully. It just looks odd. The rear sight is literally all the way on the right side. I thing MAYBE there would be 1 more click to the right if I tried hard enough.

ETA: Changed title to reflect topic going in new direction. I realised that the above is likely occuring due to a cantedBushy FSB. Is there any way to know that it is canted without just using the naked eye? Also, is there a way to fix this? The old "hit it with a rubber mallet" aproach does does appeal to me. lol.

Thanks,

Riese

Sounds like a canted FSB. IIRC Bushmaster had a little issue with this a while back.

I seriously doubt it's the BUIS. It is mounted as far back as possible, right?

But then it's Friday and I could be drunk.

+1 with HighStrung1 so have another beer.  You're not drunk yet.

Mine's OK.  I'm only a few clicks right.  Roughly half way between the first 2 hack marks on the base.

Ya thanks what I was thinking. But on both Uppers? Anyway without the naked eye I could check this out?

I appreciate everyone's input. I thought I was going nuts.

I had the same problem on my bushy carbine. It gave me an excuse to go with an expensive fix by putting a lo-pro gas block and a 10" Troy rail on it.

lol.. That is exactly what my idea was (except I wanterd to put a DD rail !  Is removing the A2 FSB and installing a new low profile one an easy job or something for a gunsmith to do?

Its because bushmaster can't seem to get them on straight.  I've had two myself.
