Hi guys, new to the forum and have a question about the eotech sights.  I just purchased a 552, rev. f and have noticed when I move my head the "point of impact" changes slightly.  This is just a table top test, I have not had a chance to shoot my rifle with it yet.  I set the sight on a filing cabinet and put the dot on a distant object.  then I step back about a foot and move my head so the center dot is close to the far edge of the screen (any direction, dot still visible in the window) and I notice the dot is not still on the exact same part of my target.   I ESTIMATE the change to be about 5 inches or so at 100 yards.  Sight has a 1 moa dot.

This may be normal, I mean when you bring the rifle up to aim, there should be very little variation on position each time over all as long as you have some kind of cheek weld.

The problem is my understanding was that the reticle is projected on the same plane as the target and there should be no change when you move your head, the reticle is supposed to compensate.

Anyone else notice this?   I have 7 days (6 now) to return this sight if it is defective.  I have an email out to Eotech, but I thought I would ask you guys, maybe someone else has noticed this.

This is normal, go shoot it and you'll see the point of impact is right on target where you were aiming. Read more and you'll understand.

Read more what?  I have read every eotech post on this board, nothing like this has been posted that I could find with the limited 30 day search.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah I forgot about your limited search capability. How about the manufacturers website, any good info there?

Nah, kinda basic stuff.  I did send them an email tuesday evening so I might hear something wed.  If this is normal I can live with it, I just want to make sure nothing is out of adjustment internally.  I checked again, I put the sight on the rifle, locked it in a vise and marked the spot on the wall where the dot was when I was in a shooting position (had a little help with that one).  Then I moved my head to the left as far as I could go and still have the reticle in the screen and watched the dot shift off the mark on the wall.  The rifle was stationary, only my head moved.  I'll post any reply I get form Eotech on here.

Thanks again.

It is normal.  The parralax you see only occurs in the first 50 yards.  If you sight your Eotech on something 100 yards away and try it you should notice the difference.  Again, what you are seeing is normal.

Ok, good enough for me.  As long as other people have noticed it, I'll assume it's not a defective sight or anything.   Looking forward to some time at the local range this weekend, several new things to try out. So far I love the sight. Excellent build quality, just had some concerns.   Thanks for the help, it is appreciated.
