Free float or non free float? How experienced are you with hand tools/disassembling the rifle? What is your budget (in US $) Do you have a weight limit? Out of these what is most important, 2nd most important etc? Plenty of good options out there (LaRue, Daniel Defense, Troy, KAC, MI etc). |

Light weight and easy to install. I'm going to assume 'light' means anything 12.5oz (or lighter) installed weight. (note standard handguards have a 7.5oz installed weight) Here are the options: KAC RAS (11.3oz) KAC RIS (10.6oz) YHM 2 piece (12.0 oz) Surefire M73 (12.5oz) Sampson MFRS-C (the only Free Float unit in the bunch 12.5oz) Sampson MFRS-DI (non FF, similar to the YHM unit with better rails 11.6oz) Any of these will do if you have a local dealer that carries them. |
