| is there a huge difference in quality between an acog 3.5x35 and an acog compact 3x24? if im not ranging human targets and just shooting and training at the range 100-300 yds whats the better choice? |
| If you are putting it on a flat top, the 3.5x version will be easier to use. If you are putting it on a carry handle, I thihnk you might like the 3x version better. The absolute biggest difference in these scopes is their size! the 3.5x is a fairly large ACOG that sits better on the flat top and is a bit more awkward to use on a carry handle. The 3x is a very small and compact scope that sits on the carry handle very nicely, but sits a bit too low on the flat top. |
+1 The MiniACOGs are better suited for carry handle mount, and the full size ACOGs work better on a flattop mount, especially from a cheek-weld viewpoint. The carry handle mount for the full size ACOGs is really more of a "we need a way to mount a scope on A1 & A2 guns" deal rather than a "this is a good place to mount a scope" thing. |
