Hello, what is the best EOTech riser for the money. I like co witnessing but I hate having sooo much of the front sight in the base. What is the best BUIS for the money also??

Depends on your setup. The best for the money is the YHM riser, at around $30, but it is not a quick disconnect.

For Q/R models, the best will most likely be voted as the LaRue.

Speaking of which, is LaRue doing the EO Tech riser with the new locking-style lever now? If so, who's selling that model?

They appear to be.  I got mine from LaRue a couple of months ago.

And a big +1 on a LaRue vote from me.

BUIS I can't say, as I've only really used the ARMS 40

BUIS FAQ
Buis will be what you decide is best for you.........

Best Eotech mount for lower 1/3 cowitness I would vote Larue.
I use a GG&G accucam, as I want the same cheekweld for eotech or sights (I have a folding front and rear, so its one or the other usually.........)

I'd vote for Larue for the riser and I like Troy's BUIS.

+1 on the larue riser, I've got 2 of them now

As for BUIS, I've got a arms 40,40L and am waiting on a Troy.  Not to say there isn't others out there that aren't as good or better, but I've had great luck with the arms sights.  By what I've read and seen, the Troy will be no dissapointment either.

Yes, the Eotech mounts are all now made with the locking lever. DennysGuns,  G&R, MSTN, Jtac Supply...etc. sell them. Or CALL LaRue and order directly from them.

Boom,

Great pics.  Any chance you could post one w/o the magnifier, but with front and rear BUIS's deployed so we can get a visual on the lower 3rd cowitness thing?  I'm thinking one with the reticule turned off, simulating a battery/electrics failure.

I think I have one, let me check. Nope don't have any. I'll go take some.

Edit: Here you go. I just took these.

Close up. This is what it looks like when you have your nose to CH. Small AP deployed.

Large AP deployed.

No AP deployed, EO on.

Awesome.  Those are some great views that really demonstrate what the lower 3rd deal is all about.

Does anyone have experience with the A.R.M.S. #38 SWAN SLEEVE? I figured it would kill two birds with one stone, the riser and BUIS.

IIRC isn't the new 553 coming out already raised to the correct height for lower 1/3 co-witness?

I just bought a LaRue from Denny for $119 shipped.

It's nice.  I'm not sure why the new lock is on the lever when that SOB is supposed to be almost impossible to turn (if you set the tension correctly) anyway?

I wondered that too, untill the day that I caught the lever on one of the straps on my chest rig...made sense after that.

Even if you don't feel it's needed, it's nice to know it's there

Niced thing about the lock is it lets you be a little more reasonable on the tension adjustment so you can operate the lever by hand, yet it locks it down so the lever won't move when you don't want it to.

On my setup i have an swan sleeve ( #38 which is 13 inches long with an integral #40 BUIS and a PRI front Front flip up sight base).  My eotech is mounted on a #54 throw lever mount which raises the eotech 1 1/2 inches so irons can still be used though the sight mount ( it is hollow in the middle.  It also allows for a better sight picture and check weld with my current stock.   It works great, for me that is.  You really need to find out what will work best for you.  and that can change based on stock, Whether you have a check piece attachment, etc. there are so many variables that can determine what you do.  On my current setup if i put a m-4 cheekpiece on i can not see the irons through the mount.

Best & Best for the $$ is unquestonably the LaRue.  The other two are compromises.

Im looking to set-up a co-workers carbine properly....

He has a flattop with standard handguards on it. He is using a LaRue BUIS on his upper and wants his Eotech raised so his irons are in the lower third of the sight piucture, but the LaRue mount wont work with this set-up, right? Will the YHM Eotech riser work with his set-up? RRA flattop upper, standard FSB, LaRue BUIS, and Eotech 512.

Nick the LT buis will sit behind the LT EO mount with no problems.

Why don't you think it will work?  Of course it will work.  I ran that setup for a while, but I found I prefer the M4 type hanguards (still no problem).

Heck I ran it that setup yesterday at a 3-gun match.

Thanks guys! I saw it here somwhere that it was said that the LT Eotech mount wont work in conjunction with the LT BUIS on a flattop upper with the standard M4 handguards Anyone got a picture so I can show him what it will look like???

LaRue hands down.  I have the LaRue and the YHM.  Pay for the LaRue.

And while you are at it, get the LaRue BUIS for the same setup.  Perfect co-witness.  Go LaRue!    No...I don't work there.
