[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Best scope height over FSB? Help!

I'm building a 20" Hbar flat top with an SIR and fixed FSB similar to the one pictured below. It will receive a 16X Super Sniper with Burris Tactical rings.

I would like to know how low the scope should be mounted? Is there such a thing as too low assuming the objective lense doesn't hit the rail? Do I need to worry about seeing the FSB through the scope?

Opinions please!

Depending on the objective you will need medium height rings. The tower will be nothing more then a very very faint shadow at lower power settings. You will be able to look right thru it without a problem.

with the super sniper you will not see close to anything of the fsb. i would go with mediums but whatever gives you the best cheekrest is what you should go with.
