Was thinking of getting an ACOG compact 2x20 for a 16'' AR. Bad move?

I'm pretty happy with my 1.5x24 red triangle.

Any pics you can show of it mounted?

Good luck...finding one.

I was all set to buy a TA47R-2. Called around for a week plus, contacted Trijicon even, no luck.
So I had to "settle" for a TA31A
Since the rule in my AO will be long range engagements, and I don't expect to do any CQB, the TA31 will work out better in the end.

SCOUTS OUT

I JUST (as in an hour ago) got my TA47-2 in amber.

After futzing with it for a while I find I prefer it mounted onto carry handle over flattop. You get shadow from the front sight post when mounted on flattop.

I really having a magnified optic and being able to use iron sights right away too.

I can't wait to take it blasting!

ETA: 16" Stag flattop upper.

Just curious.  How much does it narrow the field of view when using the irons?

You can fix that with a fold down front sight. I'll be using the PRI upfront and the ARMS 40L at the rear. On a Mega flat top...

I prefer it on a carry handle.  Still very usable and I can instantly switcth to irons.

+ 1.  For me, the carry handle and my compact ACOG go together like peas & carrots...  like Peanut Butter and Jelly...  like Hookers and Blow... You get  the point.
