When sighting in the EOTech do the elevation and windage knobs actually move the reticle about in the window?????

Not that I can notice.

Yeah, but it's not something that will be easy to see if the rifle is in your hands while you're doing it.

Maybe if you have a buddy adjust it and hold the rifle still in a rest, you could see it move.

Reason for me asking this is because I want to co-witness. I have a DPMS AP4 with the tech mounted on the flat top and a A.R.M.S. #40 behind. I was home piddling with it yesterday and noticed that when I attempted to line up the irons with the tech on they were not lining up. So I sat real still and moved the elevation and windage knobs while peering through the irons till they lined up. I just wanted a "second opinion" to see if the reticle did actually move (looks like it to me) or if it is my eyes playing tricks on me.

I have also read that sometimes a good way to sight the tech is to sight in your irons then sight the tech off of that. Anyone ever done this? Opinions on this method?

Could really use some help here! almost 50 views and 3 replies?????

I've done this....just keep in mind that the windage and elevation knobs are labelled (i.e. Right, Up) according to how you want your grouping to move.  This will be opposite of how the reticle moves - e.g. if the reticle needs to be moved "up" to align with your sights, you'll need to adjust the elevation screw in the "down" direction.

Yes I have used this method often. I first zero the iron sights then adjust the EOTech dot to sit on top of the front sight post. This cuts down on your EOTech zero time and saves ammo. Small adjustments still might be necessary, but at least your in the ball park.

Worked out GREAT! Not to mention that I didn't need a taller front sight post (should have waited before ordering). I only had to move it a few clicks and it was on! Thanx for the help guys!!!!!
