hi , I have an AR 15 sporter in 223, recently i bought for it a trijicon TA01 to put on the carriehandle, I tried it but i immediatly find that it is to hight and I couldn't keep the zero with it, i also notice that to have a correct sight with it I had to stay very close to the lent , but during the shoot the recoil can touch the eye and after few shoot the tendency it is to mouve the face far
from it and this not good for the accuracy. So I istalled a rubber eyepiece on the trijicon and a cheekrest on the stock to have the proper eye adjustmanent, now the allineament of the scope
it is perfect but far from it, becouse the cheekrest it is placed at the back end of the stock i can only see the center of the reticle and of course the rubber eyepiece it is not usable. Is this normal ? how the soldiers doing to solve this problem, Tks BR ric

I've never had this problem with the TA01, though my experience with that sight is limited.

However my TA50-2 has a slightly shorter eye releif and mounted on a carry handle I had no problems using the nose-to-the charging handle type hold - though my head was a bit higher.  I had no need for an extended cheek piece either.

If you're getting that enough recoil to hit your eye, I'd humbly suggest you put the stock firmly in your shoulder pocket.  The recoil of a properly held AR should not be enough to move the scope 1.5" to hit you.

Welcome to the site!

I agree with Forest regarding controlling your weapon.  Sounds like you are not maintaining positive control during recoil.

I use the same stance for rifle/carbine as I do for pistols - shoulders squared to the target, head over knees, on the balls of my feet.  I tuck the buttstock tight to my chest more above my nipple than in the shoulder pocket.  This stance helps me to control the recoil very well.

I have a TA-01 and don't ever have the eye piece touch my shooting glasses.  I shoot with my nose to the charging handle.  My TA-01 is mounted on a flat-top rifle in an ARMS 19S mount sitting in front of an ARMS 40L BUIS.  I do not like scopes mounted to the carry handle.
