| Hello. I am planning on getting an Aimpoint soon to go on a Bushmaster carbine, and needed some advice on whether to get the 2 moa or 4 moa dot. I will use the rifle while on patrol, and also to use as a coyote rifle. The longest shot on a coyote would be 150 to 200 yards. I did not know if the 4 moa dot would cover up too much of the coyote. On the other hand, would the 2 moa dot be very small and hard to pick up on close range targets? Thank you for any replies. --Tim |

sloppyfoos, We are an Authorized LEO dealer for Aimpoint, so we get these questions a lot. The M3 with the 2MOA dot is very popular with our clients right now. When you turn the adjustment knob down, you get a crisp 2MOA dot that will work great at longer distances. For CQB work, you can turn it up an get the same effect as a larger dot. When the level is high, the dot gets a halo effect which makes it appear to be around 4 MOA. LINK to a thread with a few pics. Let us know if we can help |

I have been asking myself the same question, 2 vs 4 moa on an M3 I also have been debating between aimpoint m3 and eotech 552. and i STILL cant decide. get both is not an option. i wanted to start a new thread, comparing the new m3 with a new 552, to see opinions, but it would probably be locked, and i would hear "read the tacked threads" but, right now, there are advancements to both the aimpoint and eotech that were not around when the optics were compared last. things have changed, and i would like to hear some fresh opinions. have a good one.
