If I got the extended module cap, I'm assuming that I won't be able to use the plastic 3-point bikini cover that comes from the factory that attaches the two adjustments and current battery cover. What are your recommendations do you have for me if I were to buy the extended battery cover (brass type) and somehow still use the bikini cover or should I dump it all together? |

The only thing the 2x battery cover really does for you is it allows 2 batteries to be carried right on the M68. Its not like it allows you to run 2 batteries in parrallel for longer battery endurance. But it still is a nice addition. The rubber cap retainer (Y strap) will stretch enough to allow using the 2x cover. Just remember to pull it off the end of the cap when you are removing the cover so it does not apply pressure that may damage the threads. Doubt it could happen but there is the possiblity. It slides straight out. I.E. just pull it out towards you. They can be a bit tight and feel like you need to do something "special" but it is held in with simple tension from the 8 little split arms or whatever you want to call them. Remember to place the inner battery facing the same direction. I dont think thats critical because it looks like the 2 batt's cannot make connection but it looks like any mechanical stress on the batteries would remain confined to the outer shell and not to the inner contact. Just a comment. Not a warning. JohnM at Home |
