| Any help ? I am looking for a relatively inexpensive spotting scope . I have been looking at the windriver and bushnell . |
| I've got a Burris 15-45 X 60. I think it ran about $160 on sale from Natchez (tripod and carrying case included). I can spot .223 holes at 200 yards in decent weather (lighting), but I haven't tried it past that range. My only complaints: touchy focus, eyepiece isn't angled. Having an angled eyepiece would be very nice for competition shooting, as getting behind the straight eyepiece in the prone position can be difficult. But overall, I'm pleased with the Burris for the price I paid. A friend of mine has the Winchester 15-45 X 60, which is priced about the same. After looking through it, I'm glad I went with the Burris over the Winchester. Much brighter picture with the Burris. If I had it to do over, I'd probably spend the extra $ and get the wind river with the angled eyepiece since I shoot in highpower competition. |
