I just bought a new ARMS 40 BUIS to mount on my RRA rifle's flat top A-3 upper. When I start to slide the sight on the rear of the upper, it goes on part way and then it becomes tight like the fixed bottom part of the sight is not machined wide enough. Has anyone else out there had this type of problem? I would appreciate any information. By the way, I did remove the cross bolt completely while trying to slide the  sight on and that is not the problem.

Check it on another rifle to see if its the upper or the sight.

I had hell getting the 40L to mount on my RR Std A4 flattop. I too had to take out the cross bolt, and stick it in the rail first, then slide the sight assembly on, then attached the side-bolt and nut.

But once it's on, it's on.

Wonders if this is inherent to the Rock River rail now... Until now, I thought it was just me.

i answered your  thread in ar discussion but i guess ill post it here too

my beowulf had the same problem as you are having right now but much worse. i couldnt even get the arms 40 started on the upper then my aimpoint mount throw lever would not even close halfway.

there was no obvious way to get it on there and still be able to use the arms gear on any other upper so i decided to part with the gear and get the larue stuff.

i actually got the buis from boom( much thanks) and then the larue cco mount. now its on there snug but still had slight movement in the two so i had to crank down on the adjusting screw for the throw lever.
