Quality is hit or miss, you may get one that works good or you may get one that is junk. What is you intended purpose? Range/fun gun Plinker Defensive Carbine for home/family defense Deploying with Military It's you money, if it's cheap and it works, cool If it does not then your out the Money. Normally with all things in life you get what you pay for. |
| Mostly I want it for use at the range on the AR. I know that I will get what I pay for...I WANT and ACOG...however I don't want the price tag that comes along with it. Looks like i'll wait and save up for an aimpoint or something that will be worth putting my money into. |

Run and hide. I picked up a BSA red dot for my .22 pistol it's fine for short range work 25-50 yds. At 100 yds is't a 4 min. dot, I wouldn't think about it for an AR. I also had one of their scopes on a hunting rifle, I went to change power to scan a hillside turned the power up and the reticle went from a+ to an x. junk. justMHO |
| I had a BSA 30mm from Walmart on my rifle for over a year. Never had one malfunction with it. It always held zero for me, and I was remarkably accurate with it and shot some pretty tight groupings at 100yds even though it was a 5moa dot at 100yds. Killed a lot of stuff with that red dot and now its on my slug gun. Only one thing bad with it and that is you have to get a riser to get it over the front sight post. |
