Hey guys,
I just got a really nice A2 upper for my "classic" build.  Now, upon receiving it, I noticed that the rear sight has some "play" in it.  With my thumb and forefinger, I can rotate it about 1/8".  There's spring resistance there (it "springs" back to place).  Is this normal?  I checked my Colt detachable carry handle's rear sight, and it's solid.  Is this a simple fix?  If so, is there a manual or something that I can follow to do it?  Would it be easier to just swap the detachable carry handle's rear sight with the "loose" one?

Thanks
Rich

My A2 did the same thing unless I had the elevation knob turned so it was bottomed out.

Normal as stated. Your options are to deal with it, find one with less play, or get a national match conversion where the sight/receiver is drilled and pinned to make the sight perfectly indexed, and basically riding on rails.
