I am comparing two scopes:

The one with the dial on teh muzzle end has an AO - what does that mean?

AO is "focus" tied to the parallex adjustment on the scope.

When your target is clear (in focus) you have the scope's parallex adjustment set also.

ps - higher dollar scopes like the top end Leupolds have the focus as a dial opposite the side the windage is on....., does the same thing.

An adjustable objective allows you to adjust the distance the scope is focused at, thereby eliminating parallax error

if you are doing a rimfire, you'll want an extended focal range so you can dial it less than 50 yards, a common minimum on regular scopes
