while at the range last week, my ar fell off the gun rack onto the ground... the gun racks base was about 8" off the ground and upon examination, the sight was slightly scratched (~2-3mm deep) on the upper left edge of the sight. looking through the irons (which are set up for co-witness) the center of the reticle was now about halfway between the edge of the glass and the front sight post. to zero this sight (back into co-witness, haven't shot it again yet) on my ar now the windage has to be cranked all the way to the stop! is this sight pretty much done for? though MAYBE the sight is still under warranty, i can't imagine that dropping it onto gravel is covered... if it doesn't zero again, but the windage still has the full range of motion, i'm thinking of cracking it open and attempting to fix it myself (assuming it uses a worm gear / rack&pinion--no idea though, never cracked a scope open). anybody have any similar experience w/a pooched holosight? any help greatly appreciated. (in the meantime i've done the sensible thing and picked up a comp ml2). |
How would you be able to tell if it's sighted in? AK's look like shotgun groups at 100yds. WIZZO |
