I am pretty sure you have to get Ultra-High Warne rings to clear the handguard.

+1 on the Ultra High.
Here is a pic of Warne Ultra High holding a Burris FFII 4.5x14x42.  Objective measures 2.24inches outside.  Hope this helps.

Warne Maxima 204LM quick release (obviously the levers are on the backside of the rings).  They did return to zero within one MOA on this set-up.  Eye relief was fine as this scope has 3 - 3.5 inches and that stock was a post-ban fixed stock.  This set up was very accurate for me but I got bit by the BRD and bought a dedicated varmint AR so the carbine now looks like this...

Here is a pic of my varmint rifle with Leupy 6.5x20x40 in ARMS 22H...Eye relief good here too.

Rings w/ a boreline height of 1.3" is about right, any lower and you'll have trouble getting your cheek-weld low enough to look through the scope.

I'd really recommend you spend more - for the LaRue SPR, (assuming a QR feature is desirable)

I thought they were expensive too, until I just bought Badger Ordnance.

No, I shoot 'em scoped like I shoot my bolt guns.  Same cheekweld.  I dont use the nose-to-charge handle method on the varmint gun.

are the Warne Ultra High rings the same as the Extra High? I'm not interested in quick release rings..once the scope goes on...its staying.

No.  Go to warnescopemounts.com and find the specs page.  All models are listed with the actual heights.  This sould help.
