Is the TA51 mont pretty decent for what it is? i want a LaRue but am finding myself not able to get the funds for it and the optic both at this time. will the TA51 be ok for a while untill I can get a LaRue?

Its good enough. It's cheap so get that until you can purchase the LaRue.

It works just fine and positions the scope a bit lower than the Larue or ARMS mounts.
