Quoted: What is a good decent high powered scope that I could mount on my AR?? the one I have now I can't get proper eye relief on my Rock river Entry Tactical.... http://www.optronicsinc.com/optics/horizon.htm BuckRidge® Riflescopes - Horizon Series I just got one, (3-9 40mm) only $59, glass seems decent, turrets are a little crude. Will post range report next week. would not recommend this scope for military or police work. I picked one up at a gun store, like the glass and price. Mine are Mil-Dot, and they are sharp. You will need 1" rings and mounts. P.S. I know this scope was made in China. |
![]() BTW, "schaeferre" it probably would not hurt if you let folks in on what "your" intended purpose/use will be for this rifle and scope will be. It'll help folks detemine what ya need. Mike |
then you would need good glass and not el cheapo china made 30x scopes.....if the leupy's too much then shoot for the bushnell elites.....the best glass for the $$$ and it doesn't fogg up in the cold/rain or water on the lens...basically if it's got fogg/water on the lens you can still look through it and still see your target as to looking through it and seeing nothing but "white". |
Well don't put yourself out there guy, over whelming us with information....... Long range shooting (400-1000 yards) has special requirements, such as the Leupold Tactical scopes suggested above. If your "target shooting" is going to involve these ranges then I suggest you shop here: www.premierreticles.com/ and pay special attention to the newer GEN II recticle Leupys, which at times are very resonably priced, (I paid $661 for my 6.5x20x40mm Gen II from them). Should you only be interested in 1-300 yard shooting the lower VX-II leupolds make a solid compromise and value. Precision shooting requires precision optics, and most spend a price atleast equal to the cost of the rifle, or more, as you cannot scrimp on a scope for long range shooting. Mike |

yea bout 600 would be tops... thats the farthest range I know of around so far.... I plan on taking it out for turkey in a few weeks, and possibly coyote, but i know that will be way under 600.... I'm thinking of trying the Nikkon scope I have on my 308... if it gets proper eye relief on the AR I may put another on it, if not I will be trying one of those VXIII... thanks |
