| I just purchased a 552. Is it true that the recticle can be anywhere in the window and still have the same POI? I thought that it had to be centered for consistent POI. Am I wrong? |
| Beyond 20 feet from target yes it's true. Up closer it's still true but to a lesser extent. Wanna try something neat, cover the forward (muzzle side)lense completely with tape. Then pick up the rifle and use it 2 eyes open like you're supposed to. It still works, you dont have to even see through the lens. |

I just dont understand because I can aim the gun and keep it stationary with the recticle centered in the window. I can than move my head and the recticle moves but I am keeping the gun stationary. The recticle is aiming at a far different area than it was when I had it centered and I am not moving the gun. What am I missing? Thanks |

EOTechs (my EOTech anyway) have paralax error. The POI will shift slightly no matter how far the target is and no matter where the rifle is resting if the reticle is not centered. (key word is slightly) That said, I wouldn't trade my EOtech for any other optic on the market. |

These holographic sights are some of the "weirdest" things, in terms of getting used to it. I too, thought the parallax was a problem, since I was aiming at stuff across my apartment, but once i got it outside, the reticle stayed right on target at further distances. I think the truth of the matter has something to do with the virtual nature of the reticle, in that it's visually projected something like 50 yards in front of the sight. It's hard to figure out a real "depth" to it, but I think that it's excellent as a battlesight. Just get it zeroed and whoever you put it on is going to be hit. I't not what I would call a precision sight, but that's not the point - it's a very quick acquisition illuminated battlesight. |
My Bushnell shifts very, very slightly at distance, but not enough to make it hard to keep it on target on a silhuoette out to 100 yards (haven't tried at 200 or 300 yet). |
When you move your head there is gross (obvious) apparent movement of the reticle, that is for sure. The thing is, there is also apparent movement of the target - the target and reticle move together. The reticle does not move significantly relative to the target. What I've siad is the "should be" case. I will verify mine is working correctly when I get home tonight. |
