a few motnhs ago I posted a question about why there is only on bearing pushing back on the rear sight...That got answered. Thanks.

New question:

My rear sight is almost cranked all the way to the left for 300 yds center mass. I would like to be able to get it more to the center.

Replace? Thoughts?

TIA, Chris.

The rear sight being cranked all the way to one side or the other is likely due to the front sight and/or the barrel assembly being canted.  If it's the barrel being canted in the receiver, there are relatively painless fixes for that.  If your FSB is canted on your barrel, that is a pretty painful process to fix on your own and professional help would be recommended.

Another option is this:  Is this a factory rifle?  There may be a warranty program that could address this problem, also.

Mongo, what type of check can I use to see if it is canted? I have a post ban, lightweight upper.

FWIW, I am in the hunt for a flat top M4 upper. I just dont want a bad upper if I ever go to sell/ trade etc.

Sight down your carry handle and check the alignment of the  front sight tower in the carry handle slot.  You may be able to detect a cant that way.  I'm not aware of any method to measure it, just the sighting method.
